Components We are Dealing With

  • A. All type of Shaft & sleeves

We've produced high quality machined shafts and components. The vast majority of our customers are manufacturers of motors and pumps for a diverse array of industries. We serve customers in industries from Oil & Gas to Marine and Sewage & Waste. Every customer has a unique need whether it's a complex alloy or unique treatment. We make shafts that can withstand extreme temperatures, impacts, and environmental factors. We have a motto at FortunePro that we,d love to make your most difficult part-the more challenging the better.

Material Specifications
In choosing the correct product and specifications for your applications, many of the following factors should be taken into account to ensure that the desired performance and suitable degree of precision is achieved. Unless they are properly anticipated, significant loads and stresses may be generated within a given application which could have potentially damaging effects.

Surface Finish
Surface finish is a key variable affecting the smoothness of travel, the load level capacity, resistance due to friction, and the overall life of a components. FortunePro is pleased to offer surface finishes better than industry standards whenever your circumstances require it.

Standard Shaft and Extra-Long Shafts
Standard shaft lengths are stocked in 3m (188") lengths. Extra-long shafts are available by special order to provide single imperial lengths up to 300'' and single metric lengths up to 7.6m. In addition, we are capable of providing multi-piece shafts up to virtually unlimited lengths through shaft coupling and end-machining whereby a series of shafts are joined end-to-end. Please call if you requires to inquire about these options.

Straightness Tolerance
Another key element to ensure precision in a given application is the overall straightness of a linear shaft. With a straighter shaft, cutting tools, gauges and positioning tables will be able to achieve a higher degree of accuracy and precision than may otherwise be achievable. For manufacturers, starting with a straighter shaft will translate into less work-around and variance compensation in the later stages of both the design and construction process, thereby increasing overall turnaround time and improving the final quality of the end products.

Standard straightness tolerances are .001" to .002" per foot cumulative with much tighter tolerances available if required. FortunePro Engineering is very pleased to offer the capability for straightness tolerance that is unparalleled in the industry.

Chamfering
Standard chamfers on cut-to-length shafting and machined parts are generally 1/16'' x 45. Depending on your requirements, any type of chamfering is available. Please specify your preference at the time of order.

Other Specifications
There are many other material considerations which may need to be taken into account during the material selection process other than those listed above.

common ones include:

  • Sensitivity to electrical conductivity and/or magnetism
  • Corrosion resistant finishes and plating
  • Special materials and chemical composition

B.Keys
A key and the keyways make up a Keyed joint to secure the hub and the shaft to prevent relative movement between a power transmitting shaft and an attached component. For example, Gear drives, Pulleys or Sprockets are connected securely using keys to the power transmitting shaft (Figure 1). Keyed joints are an important part of mechanical power transmission elements shaft and couplings, where it ensures the connection transmits the load, power & rotation without slipping and within the accuracy requirement of the design.

A key is usually made from steel and is inserted or mounted between the shaft and the hub of the component in an axial direction to prevent relative movement. Keyseat is a recess in the shaft and the Keyway is the recess in the hub to receive the key and thus securely lock the component. Generally, the term keyseat is rarely used as keyway is referred to both recesses in the industry.

C.Valve Bonet
An assembly including the part through which a valve plug stem moves and a means for sealing against leakage along the stem. It usually provides a means for mounting the actuator. Sealing against leakage may be accomplished by packing or a bellows.
Material- ASTM A 276 all grades

D.Valve Stem
Most sliding-stem control valves are direct acting, which means the valve opens up wider as the stem is drawn out of the body. Conversely, a direct-acting valve shuts off (closes) wh0en the stem is pushed into the body.
Material- ASTM A 276 all grades

Wear Rings
The wear rings in a pump serve three key purposes: Create the contact area between rotating and stationary parts inside the pump. Reduce internal recirculation from pump discharge to pump suction or between stages. Create hydraulic forces which stabilize the pump rotor.
Material- ASTM A 276 all grades

E.Locknuts/ Wheel-Nuts
Lock nuts are used to locate bearings onto a shaft. Additionally, they can be used to mount bearings with a tapered bore onto tapered shaft seats and adapter sleeves, and to dismount bearings from withdrawal sleeves. Lock nuts are also frequently used to secure gears, belt pulleys and other machine components.
